Today, the environmental organization Terra! and Volkswagen Leasing signed a Cleaner Car Contract; the objective of the long-term rental and fleet management company owned by Volkswagen Group, is to bring its cars fleet to an average CO₂ emission of 130 g/km by 2012.

This is a cooperation born from the common effort to go beyond the limits of reducing CO₂ emissions on cars by the European Union which requires the industry to sell cars that emit on average no more than 130 g/km CO₂ by 2015.

"We are proud to partner with long-term car rental companies such as Volkswagen Leasing, that with this agreement exceeds the demands of the European legislation; and speeding up the introduction of more fuel efficient cars is absolutely crucial in tackling the challenge of decarbonization in the transport sector" - Daniel Monetti, Executive Director of Terra! said.
