Athlon Car Lease International is happy to announce the signing of Cleaner Car Contracts in 4 European countries. Athlon Car Lease is the first European car leasing company to commit to reducing its CO2 footprint by 2012 and supporting its customers to reduce the emission average of their fleet. For this ambitious goal, Athlon has been awarded the gold fleet standard.

In its aim to creating sustainable mobility solutions and improving the fuel-efficiency-performance of its fleet, Athlon Car Lease has signed Cleaner Car Contracts (CCC) in Belgium, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

Cleaner Car Contracts is a program initiated by a group of five environmental organizations, led by the Netherlands Society for Nature and Environment (Stichting Natuur en Milieu). The aim of Cleaner Car Contracts is to mobilize Europe’s largest lease companies and fleet owners to advocate European demand for far more fuel efficient cars and motivate them to sign up for ambitious fleet-average CO2 targets in 2012.

Having signed the Cleaner Car Contract, Athlon Car Lease has committed to strive for a fleet-average CO2 target of newly acquired cars of 120 gr/km by 2012. For this ambitious goal, Athlon Car Lease has been awarded the gold fleet standard.

By joining Cleaner Car Contracts, Athlon Car Lease not only ensures that the legally required targets for car fuel efficiency are met, but with exemplary participation shows that it is championing green innovation in its pursuit for sustainable mobility solutions.

Athlon Car Lease has signed Cleaner Car Contracts in its four countries in which local CCC partners were available. Athlon Car Lease Netherlands, Athlon Car Lease Belgium, Athlon Car Lease Germany and Athlon Car Lease Italy have each individually committed to reducing their fleet CO2 to the 120 gr/km target by 2012. In line with its mission to provide sustainable mobility solutions, Athlon Car Lease’s remaining countries will also continuously strive for further reductions their fleet’s CO2 emission level.
